Develop the Hygienist, Develop the Practice is the product of one of Australia’s most experienced and respected dental hygienists—Laurelyn Higgins—and the practice where she works. Laurelyn and Smile Dental have spent several years developing and refining the role of the hygienist in the practice. First delivered in 2004, this is the only professional development workshop of its kind in Australia. The workshop delivers new insights into the role of the dental hygienist in the modern dental practice—from patient care right through to marketing potential. Emphasising the relationship between dentist and hygienist, you will gain an appreciation of the benefits of working with a hygienist, and how to effectively integrate the hygienist into your practice.
The comprehensive, hands-on workshop is designed to benefit the whole team, providing the hygienist and dentist with the tools to create a successful working relationship—thereby building and strengthening your practice. Delivered in two stages, the introductory module is for practices in the initial hiring/implementation phase, while the advanced module is for those seeking to further develop the role of their existing hygienist.
