Dental Hygienist Carla completed her Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) at the University of Queensland in 2000. She has also completed a local anaesthetics course with the University of Adelaide, studied advanced periodontics with Anna Pattison in Perth, and completed a tooth whitening course with UQ’s Professor Laurie Walsh in Brisbane. Carla joined Smile in 2005. She has completed in-house training through the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. She participates in our quarterly team building and practice management workshops, and attends annual conferences such as the Australian Dental Congress. Carla has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, especially tooth whitening and stain removal. Her own smile has benefited from orthodontic treatment and tooth whitening. Carla enjoys coffee and red wine, so she has regular continuing care and stain removal appointments. She likes to touch up her smile with her home whitening kit every six months or so. In her spare time, Carla enjoys going to the theatre and spending time with her husband Michael and their young daughters Amaya and Violet.
