Dentist Ingham born and bred, Dr Matthew Lombardi graduated from the University of Queensland in 2007. Matthew has been part of the Smile team since 2004, coordinating our infection control program during his university holidays. Since graduating, Dr Lombardi has moved permanently to Townsville to practise as an associate dentist with Smile. The young dentist is highly regarded by his former lecturers at UQ, and his current colleagues and patients here at Smile. He has quickly developed an amazing ability to care for kids’ smiles and keep young ones happy and relaxed in the chair. Dr Lombardi has completed continuing education courses in laser dentistry with UQ and neuromuscular dentistry with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He has also completed training in Cerec porcelain restorations. Setting a great example with his own smile, Dr Lombardi has excellent dental hygiene and is filling-free. He has had laser treatment on the gums around his wisdom teeth to help prevent infections. Dr Lombardi is currently receiving neuromuscular dental treatment to improve his bite and help relieve regular headaches and tooth wear caused by grinding. Dr Lombardi’s interests include all sports, especially the two he plays regularly—soccer and golf. Hailing from a large Italian family, Dr Lombardi is fluent in the language—and cuisine. Cooking is another of his passions—he’s particularly famous for his tiramisu. Dr Lombardi is assisted at Smile Dental by Rebecca Jezzard.
